Investigations were carried out on the vocal behavior of the Elliot′s laughing thrush ( Garrulax elliotii ) from March to May,1995,at Fo Ping Nature Reserve,Shanxi Province(above sea leval 1 100～1 350m).
１９９５年３～５月，在陕西省佛坪国家自然自保护区，海拔１１００～１３５０ｍ处，进行噪鹛属橙翅噪鹛（Ｇａｒｒｕｌａｘｅｌｉｏｔｉ）声行为的考察。

特征：中型鸣禽。全身黑褐色，上体羽灰砂褐色或暗灰褐色；嘴稍向下曲；鼻孔完全被须羽掩盖；嘴在鼻孔处的厚度与其宽度几乎相等。
生态特征：鸣叫声多变化，富于音韵而动听。鸣叫时常振翅展尾，在树枝上跳上跳下，非常活跃。栖息于山地斜坡上的灌丛中。经常成对活动，善于地面刨食。巢呈浅杯状，由枯草叶、茎和细根筑成，巢内铺残羽和细草茎，建于茂密灌丛中。巢中卵3枚左右；为淡宝石蓝，卵壳鲜亮而光滑。夏季吃昆虫，辅以少量植物种子、果实；冬季则以植物种子为主。
分布：我国特产鸟类。本种为我国噪鹛属中分布最北的一个种，分布于西北地区东南部、东北的西南部和华北部分地区。
居留状况：山区留鸟。
