      [00:07.44]A Pocketful of Pigs
      [00:10.21]Once there was no money.
[00:12.75]If people wanted to get something, they had to give something. This is the way it used to be.
[00:20.22]"I will give you my cow for your pig,"a man would say.
[00:24.08]"I'll give you my bowl if you give me a shirt,"another would say.
[00:29.20]"Here are seven oranges for one fish."
[00:32.55]"Will you give me a chicken for a bag of corn?"
[00:36.88]People had to trade things every day. They had to give a thing to get a thing because there wasn't any money.
[00:45.06]But they had to work out a good trade, one that came out even.
[00:49.53]What could you get for two chickens?Where theree bags of apples a good trade for two bags of grapes?
[00:57.60]Or one bag of apples for a little butter? What was an even trade? It was hard to know.
[01:05.62]And it was too hard to carry around all teh things for trading.
[01:09.75]People had to use toot much time getting things they needed.
[01:14.08]So they thought of a new way to trade. They thought of money.Money could "stand for"apples,or bowls,or pigs.
[01:24.24]And a pocketful of money was better than a pocketful of pigs.
[01:28.82]With money,it was not so hard to trade.Exeryone could use money.
[01:34.67]The man who needed a pig could buy it with money.
[01:38.25]The man who sold the pig could keep the money until he needed somthing.
[01:44.02]People could work for money, and people buyt things with the money they got form work.

      [02:04.06]Mr Willson:Let's play chess.
      [02:06.62]Mr Dawson:I haven't played chess for a long time.
      [02:09.67]Mr Willson:That's all right.I'm a buginner.I've just learnt how to play.
[02:14.66]Mr Dawson:Look, there's a chesshoard. Those two men have already finished playing.
      [02:21.11]Mr Willson:You're a  very good played.
      [02:23.75]Mr Dawson:Not really,but once I won a prize.
[02:26.60]Mr Willson:So did I.I won a prize last week but it was a prize for beginners.
[02:32.76]Mr Dawson:My prize was for the best player in the country. Now let's starty playing chess seriously.

      [02:59.28]Saleswoman:Why not?What's wrong with it?
[03:02.23]Man:Sometimes it goes fast. And sometimes it goes slow.
      [03:07.12]And the alarm doesn't work,either.
      [03:10.07]Saleswoman:Would you like another one?
[03:12.63]Man:No.Can I have my money back?
