词。总体上说，go to 后面要接着一个名词，比如地名等，而to
后面要接一个动名词，例如某种运动。例如我们要说“去游泳池”
时英语就是:“go to a swimming pool”。但是，当我们要说去游
泳时，英语就应该是“ go swimming”。您听明白了吗？现在让我

Mona: Oh, this isn’t right. Leo, this laundry bill seems too much.
利奥: 我看看。。。呣。。。这是急件干洗的收费。
Leo: Let me see. Hmm. That’s for emergency dry cleaning.
蒙纳: 我不记得我有使用过任何干洗呀。
Mona: I can’t remember any dry cleaning.
利奥: 噢，这是整修您帽子的费用，怀特女士。
Leo: Repairs to your hat, Ms White.
蒙纳: 六十美元呀？
Mona: Sixty dollars?
利奥: 这是因为它是以急件方式处理的，而且还是在假日。不
过如果您需要的话，我可以查询一下这笔费用。
Leo: It was cleaned at very short notice and on a holiday.
However, I can query it if you like.

Mona: No, that’s OK.
请注意听，利奥在将帐单递给客人时是这么说的。

在实际生活中大概很少有客人不核对帐单就付帐的，所以也许利奥
不必向客人问第二个问题。不过这句话中的动词look , 看， 在和
不同的介词搭配使用时，它后面所跟的名词也不同。我们说核对帐
单时，英语就是“ look over an invoice”。而我们要说“看看菜
单”时，英语就是“look at menu”。这是因为look over 这个
介词短语除了有“看”的意思之外，它还暗喻着“核查”的意思。
另外，您知道“看看小册子”的英语怎么说吗？这种时候我们就要
说“look through brochures”。这是因为小册子和书是要翻页阅
