3月5日，国务院总理李克强代表国务院向十四届全国人大一次会议作政府工作报告（下称报告）。非洲及欧洲评论人士表示，该报告显示出中国领导层对普通民众的需求、愿望和梦想的及时回应。

穆内表示，中国政府完全致力于成功摆脱新冠疫情影响，维护经济社会稳定，并确保在其战略和全面发展议程中取得来之不易的新成就。

尼日利亚报纸《城市之声》出版人卡约德·奥金本米表示，报告体现了“作为全球稳定的支柱、世界经济增长的引擎，中国当之无愧”。

奥金本米说：“这份报告虽然主要面向中国民众，但全球领导人，尤其是非洲大陆的领导人也应将其作为参考读物。对非洲来说，这份报告应该是一本关于经济规划、集中领导和坚定执行既定计划的优点的手册。”
KeithBennett, deputychairmanofthe 48 GroupClub, aLondon-basedorganizationthatpromotestradebetweenChinaandtheUK, saiditisbetterforChina "tosetamodesttargetandbeatitthansetanoverambitioustargetbutnotliveuptoit".
英国促进中英贸易组织“48家集团俱乐部”副主席基思·贝内特表示，中国“设定一个适度的增长目标并实现它，比设定一个过于雄心勃勃的目标但无法实现要好”。
"ConsideringthesizeoftheChineseeconomy, eventhemodesttargetwouldbeagreatachievement," Bennettsaid, addingthatChina'sopening-upanditseconomicgrowthanddevelopmentare "beneficialtotherestoftheworld".
贝内特说：“考虑到中国经济的规模，即使是适度的增长目标，也将是一个巨大的成就。”他还表示，中国的开放及其经济增长和发展“对世界其他地区都有利”。
"FromwhatIlearnedthroughtheChineseChamberofCommerceUK, thereisawiderangeofsectorsinwhichChinaisalreadyinvestingintheUK, andI'mimpressedbythesociallyresponsiblenatureofmuchofthatinvestmentintermsoftheemphasisonrenewablesandsustainabilityandenvironmentallyfriendlyindustries," hesaid.
贝内特说：“以我在中国英国商会了解到的情况来看，中国已经在英国投资的领域非常广泛，我对其中大部分投资的社会责任属性印象深刻，这些投资集中在可再生能源、绿色环保产业。”
