3月最新调查显示，美国公众对美国经济的评价大多是负面的，83%的受访者认为目前美国的经济状况“一般”或“糟糕”。仅有16%的受访者认为美国经济状况“极好”或“良好”。此外，72%受访者认为经济状况正在恶化，23%受访者认为正在改善。
GallupcombinesAmericans’ ratingofcurrenteconomicconditionswiththeirperceptionoftheeconomy’sdirectiontocreateitsEconomicConfidenceIndex. Thismonth’sindexscoreis -38. SinceNovember 2022, theindexhasvariednarrowlybetween -36 and -39, reflectinggreatstabilityinthetwoquestionsoverthisperiod.
盖洛普将美国民众对当前经济状况的评级与他们对经济前景的看法结合起来，创建了经济信心指数。3月经济信心指数为-38。自2022年11月以来，该指数始终徘徊在-36至-39之间，这反映出民众对美国经济现状和前景的看法未有改变。

注：该指数的理论范围为+100（所有受访者都将经济评为优秀或良好，并认为经济正在改善）至-100（所有人都将经济形势评为较差，并认为经济正在恶化）。
Withinflationhoveringaround 6%, theissuecontinuestobeAmericans’ biggestspecificeconomicconcern; 12% currentlynameitasthemostimportantproblemfacingthecountry.
通货膨胀率维持在6%左右，高通胀仍是美国人最关心的具体经济问题；12%的受访者认为这是美国目前面临的最重要问题。

由于持续对经济缺乏信心，对政府、通货膨胀和移民等主要问题感到担忧，美国民众对国家发展方向的满意度偏低。3月仅有19%受访者表示满意，而八成受访者对国家发展方向不满意。
