范文赏析
Readingisaprocessofprocuringknowledgeandthewaysofreadingvaryforstudentsbetweenreadingontheirownandreadingastoldbytheirteachers. Asforme, itwillbemorebeneficialtoreadbooksinlinewithstudents’ wishes.
Foronething, studentsshouldreadwhattheyarecuriousaboutandcanfindinterestsin, whichcanfindwideapplicationamongcollegestudentsinparticular. Inordertohoneone’stalentsandcraftswithspecificpurpose, collegestudentswillfindthemorepracticalbookstoreadtostrengthentheircompetencefortheirfuturecompetingwithotherrivalsinthejobmarket. TakeSteveJobsasanexample. Afterattendingthecollegejustforafewmonths, hecouldn’tfigureouthowthecollegelifewouldhelphiminthefutureexceptforimposinghisworkingfamilyenormousfinancialpressure. Then, hedecidedtodropoutsohecouldstoptakingtherequiredclassesandreadingtheassignedreadingmaterialsthatdidnotinteresthimandbegandroppinginontheonesthatlookedinteresting. Finally, thelastseveralmonthsforhiscollegelifeturnedouttobepricelesslateronsincehetookacalligraphyclassandreadtherelativebooks, theknowledgeofwhichhadbeenappliedtoproducethefirstcomputerwithbeautifultypography. Evidently, partofSteveJob’saccomplishmentscanprovehowessentialforstudentstoreadbyfollowingtheirowncuriosityandintuition.
Foranotherthing, studentscanbemoreabsorbedinthebooksthattheylike. Tobemorespecific, comparedwiththeassignedpapersorarticles, students’ incentivecanbemorestimulatedbyreadingwhattheylike. Forinstance, theprevailingnotionofchildren’seducationisthattheyshoulddeveloptheirowninterestsbyreadingwhatcanintriguetheirinquisitivenessorstimulatetheirimagination. Therefore, thereisavoicecomingouttodaythatmorefreedomneedstobegiventoprimaryschoolstudentssothattheycanreadsomemoreinterestingbookslikethescience-fictionnovelsortalesandetc. Besides, toomuchfocusoncultivatingstudents’ academicabilitiesandtheignoranceofdevelopingtheiroverallqualitieswillleadtothedevelopmentofeliteswithlessmorality. Obviously, thebenefitsofreadingbooksbystudentsthemselvesandthedetrimentofjustreadingasassignedbyteacherscantellushowimportanttogivestudents’ rightstochoosewhattheyread.
Admittedly, readingwhatteachersassignedcanbeofalsoimportance. Inotherwords, teacherswillbefamiliarwithwhichareastudentsshouldbeimprovedtoachievebetteracademicperformance. Forinstance, teacherswillrequirestudentstoengageinextensivereadingtoincreasestudents’ readingability. However, itcannotbethereasontoregardreadingasstudentswishasinferiorbecausestudentscanbetterimprovetheirreadingabilitybybeingabsorbedinwhattheylikemost.
Toconclude, studentsshouldenjoytherightstodecidewhattheyread.
