Multiple high-speed rail lines in YRD are about to open

      In recent days, construction on multiple high-speed rail projects in the Yangtze River Delta region has accelerated significantly.

      The high-speed railway projects planned to open for operation in 2024

      In addition to the recently opened Chizhou-Huangshan High-Speed Railway that began operations on April 26th, several other major rail initiatives will be opened soon, including the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway, the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway, and the Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway.

•       Chizhou-Huangshan High-Speed Railway

      The Chizhou-Huangshan High-Speed Railway, located in the mountainous area of southern Anhui, runs 125 km with a designed top speed of 350 km/h.

      As a key component of the Wuhan-Hangzhou high-speed rail corridor, this line traverses the core area of the Southern Anhui International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone, connecting the region's renowned and most beautiful scenic spots of Huangshan Mountain, Jiuhua Mountain, and Taiping Lake.

•       Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway

      The Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway, with a total length of 111.6 km and a designed speed of 350 km/h, is currently undergoing full-line track laying. This line connects three stations, Xuancheng, Ningguonan, and Jixibei, with a total investment of approximately 15.6 billion yuan.

•       Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway

      The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway, approximately 163.8 km long with a designed speed of 350 km/h, is also in the track laying phase. The line links the key YRD cities of Shanghai, Suzhou and Huzhou.

•       Ningbo Railway Hub Zhuangqiao-Ningbo Section

      An expansion project adding a third and fourth track between Zhuangqiao and Ningbo is underway as part of the Hangzhou-Ningbo rail corridor. The 7.4 km extension will have a designed speed of 120 km/h, significantly enhancing the passenger transportation capacity of the Ningbo rail hub.

•       Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway

      The Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway is 260 kilometers in total length, designed for a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Currently, the project has begun full-line electrification.

      New Projects Slated for 2024

      In 2024, China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. will promote the construction of major projects such as the elevated renovation of the Jiashan section of the Shanghai-Kunming Railway and the construction of the new Nanjingbei Comprehensive Training Base.
