ThismorningI'dliketotellyousomethingaboutthestructureoftheuniversityandaboutsomeoftherequirementsofthedegreethatyou'reabouttoenter.
TheBachelorofSocialScienceisinonefacultywithintheuniversity: thatisthefacultywhereIamworking, knownasArtsandSocialSciences. HereonthiscampuswealsohavethefacultiesofArchitecture, Law, andScienceandTechnologyamongothers.
Firstlet'stakeabrieflookatthestructureofthefaculty. It'simportanttoknowsomethingaboutthestructureofthefacultybecause, asyougothroughyourcourse, youmayneedtocallonmembersofthestafftohelpyou. Ouruniversityworksasahierarchicalsystem. Atthetopofthefacultywehaveadeanandbelowthedeanwehavethreedivisions; eachdivisionhasadivisionalheadandyourdegreeislocatedintheDivisionofSocialSciences.
