BEIJING, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- China'stopgraftbusterhasexposedeightcasesinvolvingofficialswhohaveviolatedtheeight-pointrulesonausterity. Theofficialswerefoundtohavebeeninvolvedincasesofembezzlementofpublicfunds, useofpublicfundsforbanquetsandunapproveduseofofficialvehicles, amongothermisdeeds, accordingtoastatementreleasedbytheCommunistPartyofChina (CPC) CentralCommissionforDisciplineInspection (CCDI).
TheindividualsincludeanofficialfromtheStateAdministrationofTaxation (SAT) andtheheadofalocalvocationaleducationcenterinnortheastChina'sJilinProvince, andtheirpunishmentsrangedfromintra-Partywarningtodismissal, itsaid.
Inonecase, YangSuizhou, aninspectorwiththeSAT, wasstrippedofhisPartymembershipandremovedfromofficeafterhewasfoundtohavespentthreedaystravelingwithpublicfundsworth 27,700 yuan (3,987 U.S. dollars) inInnerMongoliaAutonomousRegionafteranofficialtripinJuly 2015, itsaid.
Yangusedthefundstoaccommodatehisfriendsandrelatives, accordingtothestatement. Inaddition, heattendedbanquetsthatcouldhaveaffectedfairenforcementandreceivedgiftsfromprivatecompaniesworth 50,000 yuan, itadded.
Theeight-pointruleswereintroducedbythePoliticalBureauoftheCPCCentralCommitteeattheendof 2012 toaddressbureaucracy, formalismandextravagance.
TheCCDIhasbeenpublicizingsuchcasessinceApril 2014.
