BEIJING, Dec. 25 -- Chinawillrenovate 5.8 milliondilapidatedhomesin 2018 tospeedupurbanization.
Thecountrystartedrenovationof 6.1 millionhomesin 2017, morethanthetargetof 6 million, accordingtoWangMenghui, ministerofhousingandurban-ruraldevelopment.
Totalinvestmentreached 1.84 trillionyuan (280 billionU.S. dollars) fortheyear, hesaid.
Authoritiesshouldincreasethesupplyofpublicrentalhousingandofferthemtopoorfamiliesandgroupsincludingsanitationworkers, youngteachersandmigrantworkers.
