| 蒙戈湖遗址 Lake Mungo Site 澳大利亚的石器时代遗址。是澳大利亚已知最早的人类遗址。因发现于新南威尔士西南部的蒙戈湖附近而得名。遗址中发现一年轻妇女的墓葬，尸体经火化并将骨头砸碎，然后埋入一圆形浅坑中，据测定约距今2.6 万年 ，是世界上已知最古老的火葬 。附近另一墓 葬 中 ，发现一成年男子遗骸，尸体未经火化，仰卧在墓坑中，双手成十字交叉，尸骨上有红色赤铁矿粉末，据测定约距今3万年。这些说明至少在2.6～3 万年前 ，这里已出现比较复杂的埋葬仪式。遗址的居民以采集、狩猎和捕捞鱼类为生，在湖边留下许多临时营地遗迹。发现有炉灶群，表明当时已普遍用火。 |
