大自然的鬼斧神工，造就了长江三峡绝妙的奇景。气势雄伟的塘峡，逶迤曲折的巫峡，礁石纵横的西陵峡，无不风姿绰约，光彩照人；深藏其间的小三峡，更是曲水通幽，楚楚动人，山翠，水清，峰奇，瀑飞，倾倒了天下多少游人。

TheThreeGorgesconsistofgrandioseQutangGorge,meanderingWuGorgeandheavily-shoaledXilingGorge, allsaturatedinsplendidcolors. Tuckedawayamongthesearethreelittlegorges. Allofthemformaveritablewonderlandofclearwaterwithplungingwaterfallsandvelvetyhillsides, oftenrisingtofantasticpeaks-beckoningtravelersfromafar.
如今，由于国家建设的需要，正着手筹建三峡大坝水电工程。“告别三峡游”的旅游广告，拨动了无数中外游客的心弦。三峡旅游的热潮正一浪高似一浪。

尽管将来大坝建成，水位升高，三峡美景也并非单纯的“减”，而是“有减有加”，略有改变而姿色依然。然而，人们传统的恋旧心绪，对眼前的长江三峡总有一种依依惜别之情。

画家杨和岳正是怀着如此这般的心情，四游长江三峡。他望着滔滔东去的三峡江水，不胜感慨地说：“留住它，这令人迷恋、神往的三峡景色！”于是他摊开纸，握起笔，饱蘸墨汁，融入他那艺术家的浓浓深情，将今日之三峡留在了画卷之上。

杨和岳先生出生在风景佳丽的雁荡山麓，自幼承受大自然熏萌发绘画的志向。60年代，在中国美术大学（原浙江美术学院）了学业，奠定了绘画技能的扎实基础。早年曾从事木刻创作，后期潜心于山水画的研究，探古究今，博采众长，逐渐形成自己清秀腻的独特画风。他的作品多次参加各地画展获奖，深受国内外观众美术收藏家的好评。

长江三峡曾是许多画家的创作题材，但多是取其一角，反映某食段落。像杨和岳先生那样，西自白帝城，东至葛洲坝，将瞿塘峡、巫峡、西陵峡的三峡全貌，洋洋洒洒地尽收于一纸画卷，实属少见。这或许是作者胸中汹涌浩荡气势的溢露。

杨和岳先生笔下的三峡，不拘形似而强调神韵，外师造化而中得心源。他运笔若行云流水，渲染烟云尤为独到，勾皴点染，疏密、浓淡、聚散，虚虚实实，笔势奔腾豪放，墨色淋漓酣畅，尽情抒发了作者如涌的情感。
