一周前，地震袭击了中国西南部四川省。本周六，公众举行悼念活动。

Themourningbeganwithalltransportationvehiclessoundingtheirsirensat8:02 a.m., thetimethedevastatingearthquakehit. Itwasfollowedbyasilenttributeof3 minutes. Upto6 pmFriday, 196 peoplewerekilled, another21 weremissing. Over13,000 peoplewereinjuredinthequakewithLushanandBaoxingcountiessufferedmost.

4月27日8点02分，汽笛长鸣，全省人民默哀3分钟，也正是在4月20日的8点02分，四川雅安芦山发生7.0级地震。截至周五18时，遇难196人，失踪21人，一万三千多人受伤。芦山和宝兴灾情最为严重。

Electricitysupplyhasresumedinabout85-percentofthetownshipsandvillages. Nearly84-percentofthecommunicationbasestationshavebeenrestored. ThreeoutoffourwatersupplyfactoriesinLushanandBaoxingcountieshavebegunoperationsagain.
