Thoughnotwell-to-do, myparentshavebeenabletoprovidethewholefamilywithsufficientmeanstolivedecentlyandenjoyallmodernconveniences.
Myearlyeducationwasreceivedinmyhometown, i.e. sixyearsinprimaryschoolandthreeyearsinjuniormiddleschool. Aftercompletingnineyearsofformaleducationin 1958. IwenttoXiamenandparticipatedinthejointentranceexaminationforfive-yearjuniorcolleges. Fortunately, IwasadmittedtotheDepartmentofElectricalEngineeringatXiamenJuniorEngineeringCollege. IchoseElectricalEngineeringasmymajorbecause, ontheonehand , IlikedPhysicsverymuch; andontheotherhand, electricalindustryisamajorsectoroftheeconomyofChina.
ThefiveyearsofintensivetrainingcametoanendinJune 1978 whenIreceivedadiploma. AndinJuly 1980. IwashiredbyNanYaplasticCompanyandhaveservedasajuniorelectricalengineeratthecompanytothepresent. Ienjoytheworkandfeelcompetentforthejob.
Inworking, however, I'veFoundthatwhatIhavelearnedinschoolislimitedandfarfromsufficienttohandlesophisticatedjobs. Therefore, IhavedecidedtoextendmyeducationandwouldliketoenteranAmericaninstitutionfirstlytoearnaBachelor'sdegreeinElectricalEngineering. Then, ifpossible, IwouldliketocontinuemyeducationtowardaMaster'sdegree.
