The 4,200 disabledathletesrepresent 160 countries, makingtheeventthebiggestParalympicGamesever.
ItisthesamefacilityusedbysomeofBritain'sOlympicathletes. butthesecompetitorsarevisuallyimpairedorhaveotherphysicalormentaldisabilities. Theyhavetoworkthatmuchhardertoexcelattheirsports.
Findingasportandhavingthepotentialtobeachampionareparticularlyimportantfortheseathletes. Amongthemis 21-year-oldGeorginaCallingham, oneoftheyoungestBritishParalympians, whohascerebralpalsy.
"Shootinghasliterallymeanteverythinginmylifethelastyearandahalf," shesays. "Myfriendshavetakenabackstep. Mysociallifehastakenabackstep. Literally, withme, I'm 100 percentfocusedonmymatch, andIwillbethroughoutthematchandthroughoutthetime."
Outside, themenofBritain'sParalympicfootballteamarepracticing. OneteammemberMartinSinclairisintheunusualpositionofhavingabrotherwhoplayedonBritain'sOlympicfootballteam.
"It'sadreamcometrue," saysMartinSinclair. "Ididn'tthinkI'dbehere, tobehonest. Youseeoverthere, they'requitetalentedguysoverthereandit'saprivilegetobewiththem. It'squitehistoric, youdon'texpecttwobrotherstobeintheOlympicsandtheParalympics."
