新西兰惠灵顿机场方面上周六宣布，他们将在惠灵顿的一座山上竖起一块长30米宽8米的标志牌，上面写上Wellywood（惠莱坞）这几个字。机场首席执行官表示，希望以这种方式促进当地电影业的发展。电影《指环王》三部曲的导演彼得 杰克逊来自惠灵顿；从事电影特效和道具、曾获奥斯卡奖的韦塔工作室也位于惠灵顿。对此，新西兰国内不少人表示这种做法纯属效仿，对宣传电影业并无益处。美国好莱坞方面则表示，好莱坞这个名称是注册商标，“惠莱坞”标志属于侵权行为。好莱坞商会会长表示正在与律师磋商应对事宜。

Wellywoodwasfirstmooted 15 monthsago, promptingHollywoodChamberofCommercechiefexecutiveLeronGublertochallengetheideasayingtheworldfamousHollywoodletteringwastrademarked.
"IftheydothatwiththeWellywoodsignthenIwouldthinkthatwouldbeaviolationofourtrademark ... Iamcheckingthatwithourattorney," hesaid.
